Who Likes Curry

So what is happening in my life? Well life here at camp is great. The students are currently listening to Wes and Nate and his wonderful teachings on Matthew. And yes Jon you will will get your text book, I gave it to Nate. The students have been surprising me lately and I am seeing so much of their potential come into fruition. It is great to be witness to those aww ha moments. Here is the big news, which I may already have told some of you, but this years missions trip which I get to be a part of is to Northern India where we will be backpacking through the Himalayas ministering to the remote villages up there. We will not really be able to share the gospel as they are not really open to Christianity but will will be doing a lot of praying and living lives of exampe for these people. I would greatly appreciate it if you could please pray for me and the team. There is much to be done to prepare for this tip. We need to get into shape... I know, I am kicking myself for not starting last year... and learn about prayer and make it a huge part of our lives. Not to mention all the gear we need to get, and learn about the place we are going. It feels like it is so far away and yet we leave in just under 7 weeks. Here is a picture of our team going. I know that we all would appreciate the odd prayer thrown up on our behalf. For unity, integrit as we live our lives out in front of these people, and God to work in us as well.

Love you all and wish I was with each and every one of you,
Brandon

well Im alive...still

Well you haven't heard much from me in the last while and thought I would let know what I was up to. Well since I got back from X-Mass Dave has left Qwanoes and now Norm is the Food Serves Team Leader and things are running smoothly now that we have worked out a few kinks. Then I had about a week to get ready for the Kaleo 4 Mt. W trip (they had way snow then we did, but they also had more injuries then we did). Well the trip went Great. Then in Lake Cow we have be doing Youth there and just last Saturday we got a chance to talk about sex. Boy did the word Sex get there attion and since we are a leadership team of mostly guys we got to tell them from a males view and boy it seemed to sink home. It was nice to be able to tell them that and hopefully they will remember is when some undeserving boy starts hitting on them. Well that's about it.

What's all the fuss about?

Well after hearing all the horror stories about the weather in Saskatchewan we didn't know what to expect from the so called "harsh" Saskatchewan winters. But after living here for a couple of months and experiencing life here we have to ask what's all the fuss about? It was such a nice day out today that we decided to throw on some sun tan lotion grab our big gulps and ice tea then soak up the sun. If only there were some trees around so we could relax in the shade.

Oh yes and this is our new friend Amoda he's from Sudan and he's crazy. Oh and of course Dave was the lovely photographer for all of this and he enjoyed it more than he should have.

Sincerely
Parker, Lampard, Brady, Dave and Amoda

Matters of the Heart

Last post serious post, I talked of matters of the heart. God has a crazy way of working in my life lately; (just a warning, I’m going to be completely real.) I have been able to feel God; actually feel him. I get a feeling similar to shivers down ones spine, but this feels more like someone whose hand is cold running it down my back. This feeling happened when I was driving, for those who don’t know that is my passion, just driving. Anyways, this feeling happens as I was listening to kutless’ strong tower album, shocked by this feeling, I turn up the music and BAM! It happens again. I prayed to god, asking what this was; mid prayer it starts happening, but this time constant, rather than intermittent. Freaking out, I start singing, knowing now that it is God. Lately I can now hear him, speaking through scripture, and others, and to me. Luke 10:38-42 was one he pointed out to me, particular how ver. 39 correlates to 42; so good! For those who have been praying since that one post a while back, be blessed your prayers have been answered. Be blessed all you who read this, looking for encouragement, or inspiration. Go out and do what you are scared to.

Boring blog

Well the blog has been rather boring and uneventful since Jens announcment of having a bo and Of course Amanda being preggers. However even those were only an oasis in the desert. I really wish i could write something fun and contraversial to get everyone all riled up cause it truly brings me joy to watch you all get into a tither. I really have no idea what i'm ging to write about cause theres not a hole lot new and or exciting in my life. oh well I did get a new computer. mac too so i've joined that little group an am thoroughly loving it. I'm stll single although the girls at briercrest have promised to look out for Godly beautiful woman with moderate expectations in a husband so i'm set. Dudes youth group is so rad right now. just recently i moved from Co-teaching grades 10 -12 student to having my own group of grade 10s. they're all putz like me and I love each and everyone of them. Last week I asked them why they came to Soul Cafe (sunday school ) They were all totally like uhhh for friends. I'm so stoked for this challenge. Like its like having 10 me's in my class. Some kids are there for spiritual stuff aswell which is cool. This past week some of my like girly girls were coming out of their shell and it was so sweet to see. I know for some people this year after kaleo has seemed to distance them from God or brought new distraction. But I have found that looking back at my time at kaleo I really didn't grow hugely but God did use it to create an amazing base to use for the growth and learning i'm going through now. Things that have never before been true in my life. For the first time the Bible is more than just helpful knowledge it is coming alive to me can hear god speaking through what I read and study. Things like that. Struggles i've always had are being overcome. Its exciting for me to be a Christian right now. I feel like this is how it is spposed to be like this is what kaleo was for. It was my time in the wilderness to prepare for greater things to come.

Anyway that just came to me and i thought I'd share it. Umm I'm excited to say that I will be a part of each of the 3 weddings this summer as of this moment anyway. I will be a co-MC for justin and Charissa and A groomsman for Weaver as well a matts Best man. I'm am so stoked for each and every one of these positions and hope that I an do a good job.

I am also toked to be going to mt. Washington for my first and probably only snowboard day next Saturday and than in about a month from now to be heading off with the Kaleoites on abu trip to Briercrest for youthquake to visit all my peeps there.

Ok final sayings. This isn't really something I am writing for responses so if yo decide to respond maybe don 't comment on this but comment on something unrelated or even better tell about cool things in your life. maybe like from some of the people we don ;'t usually hear from... Marissa, Mikayla, Ally, etc....

Much love to the body of kaleo

need prayer...

Hey all, I have a prayer request. Nick is driving out today to the island to work for a week then is driving back with his dad next friday and then we are moving. I am asking for prayer because we really don't have our finances yet for the move and I am not sure how we are going to get out there next week. I am staying here to work this week and I think my mom is coming up for one last visit. I also wanted to ask for prayer for Nick when he drives out. The roads seem to be okay for now, but please pray for safety! Also, for prayer for when his dad and him drive back next week. Your prayers mean a lot to me! Thanks guys!

Great Winter

Hey Everyone,

What a great winter so far! I am still at UCFV in Chilliwack, taking history courses and a few others. I am still working as a lifeguard at the pool, which is going great, and I am still helping out at my church...all this probably sounds familiar if you read my blog in the fall. What has changed since the last time I blogged? Well, for one, I have a new little niece! She was born on Christmas day and her name is Emily (after my mum) Noelle. Also, if you can tell by the picture that's a guy, who just so happens to be my boyfriend. I just recently started dating Rob and everything is going great. He is planning on applying for the internship at my church and being a full time student at CBC in the Fall. He did his first two years at Briercrest, but moved out to Chilliwack with his band last year. Fortunately, he stuck around Chilliwack after the band stopped playing together. What else? I am really enjoying the youth at my church and have seen some significant changes in a few of their lives. I am enjoying the snowy weather and nice, small hikes. What else can I say, this has been a great winter so far!
Well, it has been fun reading the blog and seeing how God has been working in your lives since Kaleo! If you are ever around Chilliwack or want an in depth chat about what's happening, call.

Take care,

Jen

Faith

These verses and quote were pointed out to me as I look frusturatedly (is that a word?!?) ahead to plans for summer and next year. Thought that some might be in the same boat!

Matthew 11:28-30:
Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and You will find rest for your soul. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

Faith is not conjuring, through an act of your will, a sense of certainty that something is going to happen. No, it is recognizing God's promise as an actual fact, believing it is true, rejoicing in the knowledge of that truth, and then simply resting because God said it.

I've always wanted to be a mom

Hello all, so I have some very exciting news...lots of it! First one is.....drum roll.....NICK AND I ARE HAVING A BABY!!! We are so super excited!!! I am due August 8th!! So...big ideas and plans have been made because of this wonderful news. We gave our notice here in Edmonton with jobs and our apartment and we are moving to Vancouver Island....more specifically, Langford. It was so crazy how it happened. We found this cute little basement suite online and applied for it. The lady said that they were having 8 showings this saturday (yesterday) and so it probably wouldn't be available after then. But, God totally showed himself in this situation. I used Jim as one of my character references and as soon as she saw that she called me right away. Why? you ask, well, she used to go to Qwanoes in the late 80's and early 90's. So as we talked on the phone I was getting more pumped because we had this connection even though we never met. She said she was going to talk it over with her husband and 3 hours later she called back and offered us the place! So we will be moving in February 1st. Also, Nick applied for a couple jobs, but she said in that area that he would have no trouble finding a job. As for me, I know I will find something...always do :) So we are not quite sure how we are getting everything out there....we have somewhat of a plan, and oh yeah, finances kinda suck, but actually good came from something bad that happened. (Forgive me if I am all over the place, but I am stoked that I can tell you guys now....I have kept this secret for what seems like forever!) Okay, about a month ago some guy backed into the side of my car. I talked to insurance and because my car is not worth much it was going to be a write off. The guy didn't really want to go through insurance so we settled on an amount. Nick was going to fix the car himself with the money, but then when we decided that it was still driveable and not that much damage was done we figured we'd use the money to help us move. So....all of these little things that have happened, looking back I can see God was totally working, even though I didn't see it at the time. So....I am also stoked because a lot of you live on the island and now I can visit you! Anyway, I will give you more of an update when I know more stuff...for now, I am going to go and have a nap. Talk to you all soon! I heart you all!

Hey all. Well... happy new year! I can not believe it is 2007 and my wedding is only 166 days away, this is all insanity. I miss you all more today than I have before. I am excited to pick Kailey up from the airport today, and Charis in a few days. I just wanted to wish you all a happy new year. I miss you so much and I am really hoping that a good majority of you will be able to attend our wedding.... so that way we can see you all. Hope you guys all have a great 2007, does anyone actually do new years resolutions anymore? Meh, mine is to fit into my wedding dress.... haha sorry guys, the wedding planning is really picking up and it seems this is the only thing I can talk about these days. Miss you all.
