A Day at Jason's Home

Hey from Campbell River,

First of all, thanks Hepting for the post. That was one of my biggest highlights of the day, especially since Scott forgot to post a blog and some pics *ahem*. (You can get on that anytime Scott, haha)

So I woke up this morning about 8:00am, but decided to stay in bed another hour. One of the best things about being home is deciding when you want breakfast. Unfortunately, I had to make it, haha. I just had some cereal.

Then, because of my media fast, I had a very productive day. That morning, I completed 2 essays for 2 different scholarships... hopefully I get the $10,000 one! Played some guitar, and read a LOT. I'm on Chapter 10... or is it 11... in the book for Global Missions, and Chapter 13 in The Christian Camp Counselor. Whoever wrote that book was a genius...

Then when my parents and sisters came home, I basically had to sit by myself in the living room. Both TVs were on upstairs and downstairs, and the computers are right by the TVs... so I got more reading in! Then my parents ordered pizza and got a movie... I just got the pizza of course. But I enjoyed it while listening to a podcast called "Dirty Little Secrets" put on by XXXChurch. (And for those who think that's media... go away, I create my own rules. It was good and productional for me to listen to it... so don't judge me, haha.)

Hmm, what else did I do today... I looked for more scholarships, but didn't find any. Listened to some music (that's not media for me either)... basically, I miss you guys. This media fast really takes its toll at home when there's no one to distract you. Oh well. Now I'm gonna do some devos and go to bed reading that Global Missions book (I'd never fall asleep if I read The Christian Camp Counselor...).

Real life Stories With John Hepting

Well today I was waken up at about 4:00AM!! by my fellow room mates because they decided to catch a bus to Youth Quake. I then proceeded to set my alarm clock to 9:00 rather the 8:00 and went back to bed. Upon wakening up, I then stated the day off by watching an episode of Corner Gas.

After that I then discovered that my room mates thoughtfully left the muffins that someone had made for them to eat on the bus ride (I think that maybe they were trying to make up for the fact that they woke me up at an early hour of 4:00AM!!). Well that made a nice breakfast, but on the way back to watch another episode of Corner Gas I noticed something odd. Our Dog (OD for short (p.s. incase you don't know OD is not a Dog, he is in fact a Bata Fighting Fish)) was not looking so hot. He was swimming in circles. I know what you’re going to say. You’re going to say what ever a fish in a bowl going to do is. But these were no ordinary circles... They were going up and down instead of around and around. So I acted promptly! I snapped into action and went and watched another episode of Corner Gas. Not!! I took a look at the bowl and found that laziness was the evil doer (TO MUCH ROTTING FOOD (stop feeding OD so much, not to mention any names Jon)). So I took the bowl to the sink and put OD into a cup (which I am going to leave on the counter and see if anyone uses (wait a minute, that won't work now that I told you that I am going to leave it out(oh well))) and proceeded to clean the bowl of any fowl partials. Then to finish that job, I put the chemical (life saving drugs) into the bowl and let the poor OD back into his nice clean and healthy home. It was touch and go for a long time, but now I can now tell you that OD has taken a turn for the better. He made his first movement to the top of the bowl at 1:15AM. So after a long hard day of work for Hepting 3000, I will turn in knowing that I have once again Save The Day!!! (and not MR. Incredible) Da, Da, DAa, DAaAAAA (pretend that they are the sound effects).

P.S incase you would like to know I am going nuts being in my room all alone, maybe I will go talk to OD some more and see how is doing.

Here at Kaléo, things are getting busy as we fundraise for our missions trips. Kaléo is sending a group of seven students to Venezuela for 10 days to work with Geordon Rendle and Youth For Christ at a camp to help train young camp leaders and to do work projects. Travel expenses for each team member are $1000. We would love to have you support us in prayer - and in one other way.

We are troubled because Jim seems to be getting a bit out of style. We want to help him get a little funkier and spunky by changing his hair color. The colors displayed on our model - Chucky - are blue, pink, black and green. These can be very fashionable looks, especially for a Kaléo leader. We want your help in choosing the right color for JimBad. You can vote for your choice in hair color by donating money to the Venezuela trip. To call in your vote, give the Qwanoes office a ring at 250-246-3014 (you can call in your Visa or MasterCard). Remember when you call or give money to the office, state the color you want. All proceeds will go to the Kaléo mission trip to Venezuela. The color with the most donated money will be displayed on Jim himself. The deadline will be March 10th at midnight. Why not give the Glory to Him

Media Fast, a few of us are media fasting until the end of the 24/7 week of prayer. If you would care to join up, it would be a great way to deepen in christ. Music and media are a huge influence on our society today, and as Christians we must live a godly life. Why choose to live for the world when god calls us to a higher calling. This media fast includes music not pleasing to God, movies, or video games (i know no more rainbow 6) God is more important.

Ucluelet Team!

Hey guys! We made it safely, although I don't think that meat from lunch yesterday was all that safe. I hope I have an alright sleep tonight...

So anyways, we hung out at this beach in Tofino that starts with a 'W'... I have no idea how to spell it. We had lots of fun, and apparently I got too attached to a stick there. More on that later.

Brady's been high on caffeine since we made that stop at Tim Hortens in Port Alberni, and Charis is tired even though she went to bed the earliest last night. Phil's good too.

So anyways, I forgot to hand in my Ethics stuff... could someone grab it off the desk in my room and staple it (you can find a stapler on Brady's desk, don't tell him I said that), and hand it in? There's a can of Root Beer for whoever does it first (just grab one from my desk). Thanks!

Also, could someone post when we're leaving Qwanoes to get to Lech's house? Thanks again!

2:11 AM

Well well... it is now 2:12 am saturday morning and Bad Boy Brady, Jordan and I are still in the library. We have actually been here since about 11: 14 pm friday night. So far i have done one journal entry, Brady has done one and Jordan...well not quite done one. I never knew how many distractions there are in this library. I gave away the internet cord so i would not be distracted by msn and the internet only to realize 3 hours later that i can still get wireless in here. mhahahahah. (hence the blog)
Yes our night started off with all 3 of us talking on msn in 3 chairs next to each other. We convinced one another to work but our breaks and conversations seemed to outweigh our typed material.
Brady is the key distractor in this situation. Jordan is a close second.
Well it is now 2:16 am and i still have maybe 8 more entries. break time is over.

Valentines on the beach

Well, ten of us slept on Juan de fuca beach for a night and it was on valentines so what better way to celebrate then by making a love fortress. Brady and I (being as smart as we are) used pringle containers and started making our castle in the sand. Scott tried to show us up but failed , saw something shiny and ran away. Kirk stood over us, threatened to kick it, made fun of it and then went to sleep. I knew everyone was secretly jealous of love fortress. As you can see in the picture it is beautiful, brady and I of course live in the top tower and there are condos down below for everyone else.... as well as a jail for the bad kids. It's called love fortress because the moat is a heart... genius! So pretty much we had the best valentines day ever, but the next day a crazy bush man(hepting) beat love fortress down with a huge stick. It was tragic. The memory of LF will live on forever... FOREVER HEPTING!

Happy Valentines Day

Well my friends basically almost all of Kaleo probably had a miserably cold and tiring valentines day hiking to a beach or to some snow caves in the middle of nowhere. I had an excellent day though. I got to have a nice quiet sleep in and I got up put on my bath robe ate some honey nut cheerios and did some homework mixed in with computer games till lunch. Lunch was a pleasant surprise of goodness. After it was more quiet homework until Brandon and I went to find some special valentines stuff. We got back and after alittle fooling around I got dressed up and Amanda kidd and mikayla joined us for a nice valentines dinner at the cactus club cafe. it was a pretty great day but all those suckers who are probably trying to sleep in snow cave might not agree. Its ok though.

Sunshine!!

Does the sunshine ever make you want to just run outside and smile up at the sky while twirling and leaping for joy? Okay, maybe that's just me...but seriously this blue sky makes it awefully hard to stay in doors!

I was reading in Ecclesiastes this morning and it reminded me of you guys and I wanted to share it. Chapter 4:9-12: "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken."

God created us to enjoy fellowship and what a pleasure to rely on each other and a joy to live amongst such wonderful and amazing people!
