"Father Give Me a Heart for You and Your People"

Dido what Jim said. Charissa, I am glad you didn’t delete this post. I know exactly what you are feeling I have talked to several people lately, and it seems that the same question keeps popping up. Why don’t we spend more time developing quality relationships? Why don’t we allow ourselves to be vulnerable with others? God created us to be a body, to work together to further the glory of his kingdom. Yet what consumes our time? For me, to be honest, it is my own selfishness. I spend my day focused on my own selfish agenda. Most of the things I do don’t even scratch the surface of what really matters. What really maters? Two Things, the only things that last for eternity, God’s word and God’s people. Yet I am so quick to forget this. Why? Well God use my buddy John Schmitt to answer that question for me a few months ago. The answer is fear. Fear of being hurt, fear of the unknown, fear of loosening the clenched fist I have on "my own life" (You are not your own; you were bought with a price I Cor.7:19-20) and allowing God to bless me beyond anything I could possibly imagine. “Father forgive me for living such a blind, fearful life.” Just think what would happen if all God’s people stepped outside the comfort zone of our own little worlds, regardless of the obstacles that seeks to hold us back, and allowed God to take the drivers seat.

I was listening to a speaker today and he mentioned the testimony of the Cambridge Seven . Seven starters of the Cambridge cricket team, also in the same Bible study, decided not to go pro but rather to fallow Hudson Taylor to the mission field. Read the story, it is a great example of how we should sharpen and encourage each other to make Christ’s desires our desires. This is my desire.

Charissa, don’t apologize for ranting. That is what we are here for. I love and miss you, all of you. And I want you to know that I am praying for each of you. Your pictures are stuffed in my Bible and hanging on my walls. If you have any requests, or just want to talk just call. It doesn’t cost me a thing so I can call you right back with no cost to you. It is hard for me to get a hold of some of you. Believe me I have tried! There is always some one here just leave a message. I heart you guys!!! Live for the praise of His glory.

Craymer - For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

Hey Charissa, give me a call sometime. I have been tying to get a hold of you I am guessing your brother and sister haven’t given you my messages these past few months. Sorry. Ehem! I could name a few others I haven’t heard from in a while. Ha, ha, ha! I know you are busy. No worries.

I just want to point out that the context of verse you quoted Jen is Paul telling the corinthians to avoid sexual sin!

Yah I know Andrew, but the truth still holds fast. We are not our own. We were bought with a price and weather or not it is sexual sin or a sin against our siblings in Christ makes it none the less true. If you would like I can find you over a dozen other verses pertaining to God's view on living a selfish life. Just let me know. Miss ya bro.
