The RCMP
Hey Everyone! I just thought that I would give you all an update on what is up with me!
At the beginning of this semester, I have been focused on getting into the nursing program. Recently, however, I have been considering the RCMP. Well, I have not just considered it, I have prayed, asked for direction and prayer from others, and started the application process. Last week I applied for the RCMP. I am taking an exam at the end of the month. If I do well on the exam, then I may be selected for an interview and then there are a lot more steps after that. If I do well in each step, I could be off to Regina for training in the next year or less.

The event that sparked this interest that I have to become an RCMP officer was when I interceded for a boy who was getting beat up. While I was at work, Jen noticed some commotion outside and she sent me out there to see what was going on. I ran outside and there was a gang of 10 guys beating up a boy. There were a bunch of people watching this going on. So I said, "Come on! Lets go! There are enough of us to help this boy!" But the people would not come because they thought I was too small to help so me and another staff person named Megan ran towards this boy. Thankfully, when we got about half way there, the gang of boys ran away. The boy who was beat up was going in and out of consciousness and he wasn't making sense. We called the ambulance and cops. Interceding was rewarding, exciting and thrilling. This is the sort of thing that I want to do with the rest of my life. I am not going to base my entire career on this one event, but it did start the wheels turning in my head to join the RCMP. But many things that I do already seem to lead into the RCMP. I am excited to see where God will take me in the next while, but I was wondering if you could all pray for me as well so that God is one who is directing each decision. It is kind of scary doing this without Jen, but we are gonna have to split sometime! Thank you,
Teri

Oh man teri I couldn't see you beating some punk drug addict into a van for lock up after shop lifting but you do have the idealism for the job so i could see it. It'll probably chang your sheltered outlook on life a bit which is definitly for the best too!
Teri that's totally awesome! You and me can chill if you come here for training!
wow andrew, you sure do have a special type of gift with words... umm anyways, teri, thats fantastic, if you came to regina we could hang out some time and it would probably be really fun....and its cool you found something you want to do so bad
Teri that's awesome! I can definitely see you as a compassionate cop...so I think you should patrol the #1 highway when I'm driving to school :) Let us know how the exam goes!
I can honestly say Teri...I think you would make a great cop, do what I didnt, you'd be better anyways. And dont get your hopes too down, but usally even when you pass the test they dont accept you, thats only becuase thier looking for non-white officers.
Seriously, a guy in my church, buff and fit, got a 90% on the exam and they rejected him cuz they said they were looking for East Indian and Latino officers...weird huh???
They changed that rule they had like a braket of minorities they used to fill but now they just take the best. my cousin wanted to become a cop so thats how I know!
thats sweet teri, and on a similar note im going to be takign my exam for rcmp entrance in december and i have already started the process. anyways ... yea andrew you sure do have an encouraging way with words... or something..
maybe they did go with race type minorities that they wanted, but im pretty sure they count being a girl as some type of minority....so if it was still like that you would have an even better chance.....just because you're a girl...i think i learned that in school. ahaha
they have a certain amount of people they need to fill for each province according the the population in each province
i'm excited for you!! it'd be crazy if all of us were in the force Dave, You and I
Oh man if any of you ever pulls me over for speeding so help me I will beat you with my club.... just kidding. Another example of my amazingly encouraging way with words for dave and kaileys benefit.
Teri, that is awesome! I'm excited for you. I guess if I ever try to saran-wrap you again you won't let me win.
Scott, I didn't know you wanted to join the RCMP. Have you applied?
