My Weekend
So, I promise this blog will short and simple, Derkson style. Not too short but not 3 pages either. Anywhoo, so this weekend was YC Alberta 2006! I got to hang out and co-lead our youth group all weekend and chilled with them as bands such as Pillar (which btw have a new album coming October which is more metal-ish), TFK, Newsboys, KJ-52, The Grits, Stellar Kart, Hawk Nelson, Tree 63 and Audio Adreniline played. Panic Squad was also there, as was this guy named Bob Stromberg, a hularious shadow puppet expert. Miles McPherson was the speaker for the weekend and his method of teaching kids about the 'Roman Roads' and everything basic about the bible was amazing!
A couple things that made the weekend even sweeter, was the fact that Audio Adreniline played thier last concert together EVER this weekend. The lead singer has literally comlpetely lost his voice! But yeah, to top that off, they played they last song "Underdog" in Oiler's Jerseys that were given to them. I also ran into (literally) Jordan from Kaleo 1. Crazy guy!!!! And better yet, I met up with Kendall, a gal going to Kaleo next year. We talked for ever about Kaleo, I told her how I first felt going into Kaleo and how it all changed very soon. We had other talks too, random chats about life and the Oiler's and our familys and what not. And shes such a cool person, we cliqued right away and she gave me a big hug. Its so a kaleo thing. And It sadly ended with me bringing the awesome power of the Kaleo tradtion...Prayer. I wrapped my arm around her. Prayed for her as she finishes high school and goes through summer, preparing for that totally 'Stellar' (lol) experience. I plan to go and visit her for a day before I jet off to Regina to see Justin and Charissa!
But yeah, that was my stellar weekend, I hope yours were all awesome too, cuz I for one know that you could even make a weekend of doing dishes @ Ness into an awesome weekend. (Kailey)
So yeh, how was that? too long, too short? or like a little girl with locks in her hair once said..."Just right!"?
