DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!!
*WARNING: The following pictures may come as an eyesore, just be warned*
So my first week of work was pretty awesome. The job itslef is incredibly easy and I've never yet broke a sweat. Anywhoo, so my week was cut a lil short. So basiczally my job is to align the trusses and then Nail on the four corners of each plate (which is to hold each joint into place while the rollers run over it..kinda like a tack weld, for all you welders out there) so anyhow we're on our first truss after first break and its only 9:25AM on Thursday morning. Well I'll be proud to say that my first hit actually put the corner into the wood (which you need a pretty heavy hit for), but I can say that I also hit the small corner of my left index finger into the wood as well. Because I only hit the very side of the finger (like literally, i didnt even hit the actual finger nail*) the doctors (who were freaking surprised by the injury) said that in technical terms it was called a 'Crush Wound'. So heres how it happened...
The hammer had not so much 'hit' as it did 'pinch' my finger. And you know when you pinch your finger in the door? Well it was like that except the fact that it was a Jason Derkson hammer swing, which is frickin hard and fast! So basically, all the 'meat' (aka, all fat or inner materials) of my finger were pressed up against the skin of my finger. And becuase there was so much force, all the 'meat' could not be contained and the skin was simply not stonrg enough to hold back the pressure, so then the skin decicded to split open as wide as the finger itself! And in doing so, this then allowed all the pressure to ease while the 'meat' in the finger spewed outward! After the explosin (in the next 2 milli secs or so) I was ready for a second swing. It happened so fast and hard that I brutally 'mashed all the nerves in that part of the finger in a split second and in turn, didnt feel a thing. And because I actually still managed to get the corner of the 'plate' into the 2x4, I hadnt really noticed.
An well basically I got all Thursday paid for because of compensation, and I got friday off. And come monday, I have 2 weeks were I can refuse what the doctors call 'heavy' work. So whatever that is, its already not heavy work to me. And yeah, the stitches were fun, the doctor was confused at how to stich it back up. So he gave me 4ml of that freezing stuff, and my finger went like 5 times the size, but i couldnt feel anything, so I decided to watch him do the actuall stitches. He used 4 different thicknesses of stitch and needles. It was so cool. Oh and yeah...I so wish i woulda had my camera with me, the doc totally had to just shove all the fat and meat back in place and pull hard on the stitches to contain it all...oh well. So my finger will heal in about 2 weeks, I cant even take out the stitches for 12 days! And my finger is now a lil out of proprtion because of the 're-setting' of all the meat. The funniest part of it was my buddy beside me almost fainted and had to sit out (pale as MJ) and couldnt work for a while...LOL But yeah theres my story for the day. Have fun with the following pics....

All these pictures were taken 2 dasy after I had gotten the stitches (7 stitches!), so these pictures are actaully rather 'cleaned and censored' for your veiwing*
Love you all, and you cant say I didnt warn you! (if you didnt really like the pics)
God Bless,
