More exciting news!
So you've all heard about my great weekend.....heres a more detailed and cool version....
Friday night, worship night with youth, Had sundays after, invited anyone to come, 25 youth, 50 ppl showed up! i only knew about 10youth, there is like 15/20 new youth since i left for Kaleo, and they just LOVE me! So thats what i'll be doin this summer (as well as ministry with the Natives...duh!) and funny thing, so i try and teach these kids 'Ching Ching Chowey' and they LOVED IT! (but really suked at it...lol) anywhoo, saturday we had a concert from a gal who use to go to our church 6 yrs ago, b4 she moved to Nashville (cuz she became well known in the counrty world) and she played for us for free as a gift. And we also had a banquet that evening. Then sunday, I was at church from 9AM until 6PM. We had worship practice @ 9 and then our FIRST official service in the new sanctuary celebrating 25 years! After that we had a BBQ, and our Pastor actually had one of his cows butchered for the hamburgers (a cow that was already in line for meat Kailey). The @ 3PM we had a slideshow presentation of the last 25yrs...stuff i had never seen (like the original construction of our old church) and a dedication service to follow, with that pastor dude i told you about. The we had coffee and dessert afterwards. But heres the COOLEST thing EVER!!!!!
So while i come home for Christmas from Kaleo, i catch a sunday where the floorboards for the new stage are sitting in the 'shell' of our new church. After the service, we had a prayer meeting in the unfinished building, the pastor gave everyone (even the lil kids) markers, and we all wrote on the floorboards the names of ppl we knew that needed to come to Christ! So as i stood up there yesterday playing guitar, underneath me were the names of ppl who need God. And then i find out that one had already accpeted Christ! And when i came back to Kaleo and they we're workin on the walls (just b4 the insulation) everyone wrote out there favorite scriptures on the 2x4's, and prayers of dedication! so our entire structure is built (literally) on prayer and scripture! And what a ministry to the contractors as they put these together!!! And today we all grabbbed a stone and wrote our name on it with a verse, then in a book, wrote our memories of Beach Corner Chrurch. I became a Christian through this church, i was baptized here, i made awesome friends here, i invited others here who are now also following the Lord! and so yeah...we gonna put all these stones around a cross that we are gonna erect in our parking lot, entirely visible for all who pass by on the highway!
But yeah, this is a freaking long blog so i should quit while im ahead, God Bless you all, im still prayin for y'all* (that was for all you New Orleans ppl)
