However, i am loving Briercrest! my classes and profs have been amazing and the friends, both old a new, are just fantastic!!!
in other news... a couple weeks abo my budy from vic flew out here with 2 tickets to the Grey Cup!! so i go to go to the game in Winnapeg with him and see BC break the cup... i also got to see Phil which was pretty rad!! i got to hang out with him and his mom and brother... his brother plays drums and his mom makes killer muffins!

Psh prairie hater. i think your the armpit of canada. i dunno what ur talking about. I have actualy come to really like the prairies. i love getting up in the morning and watching glorious sunrises. and on my way home frome work watching it set. the wind can be a little rediculous but the praries are just as beautifull as the island. that and it doesn't rain 24/7 i absolutly hated that. drove me nuts. thats why most of the island dwelers smoke pot to make up for the way that the rain makes them feel. Have a great day. i hope the wind blows your skirt up.
britsh columbia is the best,
saskatchewan is a hairy chest
boo erns to the paries!
can't even grow cherries!
love you jon
I am astonished that you are so quickly judging and insulting the work of our wonderful creator. The winter can be cold, but it is so beautiful. The summer's can be real hot, but the storms are incredible. Maybe its time you wussy island dwellers came out of your shell and realized there is beauty beyond the island. God created this place and I really do get insulted when you say it's the armpit of canada. It's my home. I think you need to look a little deeper to see the beauty that lies here. Yes the island is nice and yes there are mountains to snowboard on.... I MISS YOU MOUNTAINS! (for snowboarding purposes only)..... I don't know. I really think y'all need to get out of this mind set, it's driving me nuts and I think it is ignorant towards people's feelings (like mine) and think.... your insulting God's beauty, if you believe, like me that his beauty and glory is hidden in the world around us.... I don't know. I think you should really learn to love it here, and although you may miss your home, know this is someone else's home too and there is beauty here.
i'm not insulting God creation i'm merely stating that he created bc a little nice with mountains.

Charissa I think you should chill out a bit. Jon was more or less joking, as the rest of Canada does about Sask. I dont think Jon and Scott were insulting God's creation in anyway. Dont take things so seriously sometimes. To rant about people ragging on your province and how they should be more aware of peopels feelings (like yours) and then call Islanders Wussy, is not only ignornt in return but hypocritical.
You guys are al crazy, BC is alright and Saskatchewan is an aquired beauty (that when found really is glorious) but we all know that like Goldilocks, it's the inbetween that counts...
WOOT WOOT Alberta!!!
peace out haters...LOL
Ya im pretty sure Saskatchewan has a declining population for a reason, and the sunsets on the ocean are pretty much just as awesome. As Jimbad always says the prairies are where God sat when he was making the mountains of BC and the great lakes
First off.... I know you all won't understand, because those of you whoe do not know me very well.... won't. But, I don't want to be told 'not to take things seriously', because if you were all truly just joking, I think we would all hear more about the beauty saskatchewan has to offer. Secondly, I was not be hipocritical by calling islanders wussy's. I don't know what your definition of wuss is.... but mine is someone who for example can't handle the cold winters of saskatchewan. I was not in any way insulting BC because I think it is beautiful there. I know you all think I am crazy, and like sarah, telling me I should 'chill out'. But I'm alone in standing up for saskatchewan.... God didn't sit on saskatchewan when he sculpted the mountains, he made it with the same care and thought. I just really can't believe you expect me to believe you are joking when nothing positive about saskatchewan comes out at all..... like I said I don't expect you all to understand because you don't know me, or how I function because of past things, but this is how I feel. And I know that some people don't respect that and what not. But I am still going to defend the beauty God has placed here.
Charissa I called you hypocritical because your upset that someone would make a not so positive comment about Sask and then you turn around and rag on islanders being wussy and claiming they need to "come out of your shell and realize there is beauty beyond the island." So if you cant handel people ragging on your province then dont dish it right back about islanders. And plus who even cares it was more or less a joke, but you can believe whatever you want to believe.
Okay, okay, everybody take a deep breath and laugh at yourselves, long and hard. My word! Have you forgotten that where you live has nothing to do with you? "From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us" (Acts 17:25-26). So Charissa seeks him because of beautiful sunsets as she watches her dog run farther away each day, and I seek him as I watch the waves in my Helly Hansen rain jacket and pants. Let's just seek him.
And just a reminder - when we read the blog we can only read words, not the emotion behind them. Let's be more gentle with this potentially harmful tool. Call each other on the phone. Or go visit. Hey, just go outside and away from the computer and watch the snow get deeper or a slug crawl. God values nothing in all creation more than the people reading this blog.
well everyone... i am truely sorry about what a fuss my comments have caused. I would never intend to insult God's creation, although i do see how that may have been how my comments were taken. I also would never have posted if i had known how it would have caused us to start attacking eachother... so i am sorry! and thanks to Jim for, once again, being the voice of wisdom and truth...
well said jim
Well Jim I'm glad you stepped in it started getting heated. Sarah and charissa you both need a time out in the corner. But just to ad my Ps and Qs Charissa I think it is truely wonderful that unlike the majority of the world you can truley see beauty in Saskatchewan but as for me som pretty colors and a few empressive electrical storms just can't make up for aweful weather and boring landscapes. I love Victoria, the warm summers the warm winters... We pretty much only get to seasons so.... But also the ocean is pretty much the most thearputic thing there is. There is somethingm powerful about knowing you live near the ocean the beauty of it the diversity its wicked and of course the mountains. Have you ever driven through the fraser canyon and looked up the sheer rock faces with scant trees clinging on the roaring river running at the feet. I have to say that I was born in Alberta and lived in terrace (the armpit of BC) but southern BC is my home and I will say with every ounce of conviction in my blood that I truely believe Victoria is the most beautiful City on Earth.

I think my biggest problem is just hearing people complain about being here all the time, when it's not bad at all. And I didn't mean to insult the islanders at all, I had a bad day and just gotten very frustrated to hear more about how saskatchewan sucks and what not. But who cares really, it is really stupid to fight over such dumb things, but yet at the same time I am bothered.... haha. oh well. Love you guys.... and by the way it is a BEAUTIFUL day here today I believe it is 1 Degree above 0 out today and it is a clear sky.... I think I am going to put shorts on..... haha, Haws I can see you thinking that is so cold! haha, this doesn't feel like december. Sorry for all the trouble of this argument..... I was in a argueing mood yesterday....
Ive said it before and I'll say it again...
Ahh...I miss Kaleo...LOL
p.s. you are in caronport... i wouldn't judge the entire prov. on what you see in one tiny little southern area. Summer up in central or northern sk is awesome!
P.S. What I say is in no way an attack to either BC or AB...
With that said, I'd like to say that I see beauty in the prairies. I have yet to see a thunderstorm, but what I have seen is pretty awesome: the amazing sunrises and sunsets, the beautiful snow, the snow falling softly, the ability to see more than a mile away... I think it's pretty rad.
But in all honesty, I think the prairie people are the real 'weather wimps'. I'm seeing most of the Albertans here at PRBI dress in a warm jacket whenever it's below 0. I can go out in a T-shirt when it's -20! And it's not even that cold. It was way colder on the island when it was +5! True, it's a different cold... but the Albertans have been complaining way more than me. (Sask. may be different, I just know what I see in AB)
But even with that said, I now recognize that BC is full of driving wimps. If there's snow falling, I know a lot of people that wouldn't go driving in BC, but Albertans will drive in absolutely anything! It's ridiculous! So there's my observations.
Be sure that wherever you are, you are taking the time to marvel at what God has made. :D
It's not a matter of better or worse. It's just...different. The real question we all have to ask ourselves is how much "different" are we willing/able to endure/enjoy?
OMG, we are crazy..look @Us!! LOL
Lets just admit that Canada is a sweet country, we are blessed no matta where we from*
during kaleo 2, a conversation was had, praising the beauty of bc. nate haak of sk sits there listening til he decides to interject with "God made the plains, too," forever ingraining that short, profound statement into my mind. God has made everything with a purpose and a plan. He does not consider any piece of land better than another anymore than he considers me better than you (let me assure you, i'm not). what does it matter if we live near mountains or on the plains? what really matters is if we think of others the same way some of us think of provinces that are not our first choice. minnesota has some flatlands on the western side and some decent hills up north (nothin like the rockies but they got some altitude to em). it gets cold in the winter and swarms with mosquitoes in the summer. the rest of my country doesn't understand why minnesotans choose to live here, and the rest of the world doesn't understand why christians choose to sacrifice everything they have for a God they can't see.
when you see a pitiful drug addict on the street, a troubled teen lipping off to adults, or even atheists bashing your faith, remember, "God made the plains, too."
