Take that, Mac users!!
Pentateuch is OVER!! And what would you know, Don Taylor walked in the door just now... oops. My computer has moved to the library now. Just so that I don't have to repeat my reasons for it, I'll post them.
1) Others can use it. Girls especially, since they hardly have any decent computers between them. No, I'm not sucking up to the girls. I just help when and where I can.
2) My computer lights up like a lighthouse, and when I want to try to work at night like I want to, it distracts my roomates trying to sleep.
3) I have a MUCH clearer desk.
4) To keep myself and other guys accountable with playing games. It's gonna mean a little less Rainbow 6... but oh well. It'll be a good thing.
5) Any other possible accountability issues with myself.
6) Any other reason I think of later.
While I'm at it, why don't I go over the rules for using this computer.
1) Kaleo people only unless they have my express permission. At the moment, I'll also allow the interns here, and Chris and Bobby, cause they're cool.
2) Don't mess too much with the settings and placements of the computer. Even if you know what you're doing. Please.
3) Consider others in the Library, of course. Bring your own headphones if others are in here and you're listening to sound, and just respect everyone in here.
4) You don't have to pay me for the printer. You do have to mark it on the Kaleo sheet though, and pay them for their printer. Easy rule to follow because you already are following it.
5) Be fair. Share.
6) Clean up the mess you make. Again, you should be following this rule already. Feel free to use USB and other devices, but I'm not responsible for what happens to it.
7) Try to use the 'Kaleo' user at all times. Just make a habit of not signing into 'Jason', or if I leave my user on, just switch users.
8) It's a nice computer. I like my computer. I hope you guys like my computer too. The computer likes to be treated nicely, so be nice to it.
Other than that, feel free to use it for whatever. Of course, if all you're doing is playing a game, maybe you should read a book. Just get up from the chair and walk over to the opposite side of the room, and get a book. Especially keep in mind those who want to use this for homework or research, especially because MAC'S ARE AWFUL. Ha ha. Take that, Mac users.

talk to someone who knows there stuff. i don't recall a pc having the capabilities of a mac.. example: being better in looks and performance! Oh do mac crash?? i forgot no they don't!! no illegal operations!

Umm, I've used Macs before, and not even very much... and they've crashed on me plenty of times. And I know my stuff... my computer's nicer than any Mac here. I'm not sure if it's the best computer here... but it sure looks the nicest! Mwa ha ha.
So you bash mac's eh? Well my dear friend. You should come over to my place sometime and play around on my 20" iMac and 12" iBook :) Seems to me the reason you like PC's is for your gaming. That's about the only reason I'd want to stick with a PC. But I am a digital photographer, all I gotta say is Mac's are wonderful for this. Mac's are made for media professionals, not gamers :)

Funny thing, last year my OT Survey Prof. said that the Apple on the Mac represents the fruit of knowledge in the Garden of Eden. At that moment in time I was in that class taking my notes on an Apple iBook. I just smiled :)

hey, im an 05 kaleo and i think both have their pros and cons. rather, what i am stoked about is that someone would be generous enough to leave their computer in the library for anyone to use. thats awesome. thats how families are supposed to work. i didnt have my own and was constrained to using kaleos imacs, which i didnt find as terrible as everyone else always did. but when i needed it all the other guys would let me use their computers. it was great. one of my roommates, besides from being my favorite person in the world, and even though he always let us use it when we asked, always kept his locked with a password. we cracked it three times.

Note that the hyperthreading Dell that beat the Mac is also cheaper. The other tests on that site show even cheaper Dells beating out slightly slower Macs... again and again.

Like I said originally, I said I like Macs a little. I've seen the G5, and I definitely liked what I saw. I might even chose that computer over most of the newer PCs. I know LOTR was made on Final Cut, and that 99% of CDs nowadays are edited on Macs. Didn't know about the Xbox 360s, but I trust you. In short, PCs and Macs are both nice right now...
Still, what about Adobe's comment? Premier is decent video editing software (albeit really advanced), and apparently it runs better/faster on PC. Also, about software... there's WAY more software for PC... and not just games. PC is simply the most popular platform right now... and that means more software developers. It also means MORE support (other than Microsoft). Apple doesn't have a lot of backup when it comes to support.
I'll give you reliability, cause of the viruses and stuff like that. Since Apple is getting more popular, it may shift, but Apple will probably still be much more reliable. I'll also give you audio... PC just really lacks the decent software for that.
While I'm talking to an expert, I might as well ask a few questions:
1: Why did Microsoft Xbox 360 use Mac?
2: Someone said Mac was one huge illegal operation. Why's that? Or is that just garbage?
3: "We've used Macs ever since the release of G5's." Did you have PCs before that? If so, why would you recommend everyone to buy a Mac when most don't have the money like huge businesses to switch if Mac ever went bankrupt?
4: How could game designers use Macs to design the games, but not release them on Mac to get more money?? (This one really boggles my mind)
